Graduate Attributes

Graduate Certificate in Counselling Skills (GCC8)

A graduate of this course is someone interested in learning and applying the skills of counselling within a wide variety of contexts and circumstances but is not someone who would necessarily choose to identify his or herself as a counsellor. Students who complete this qualification do so aware of the importance and need for counselling supervision should they choose to practise as a counsellor in the future.

A graduate of this course would be encouraged to undertake supervision, complete further training, and apply for membership of counselling associations and professional bodies. For those students who choose not to work as a counsellor and who do not wish to seek professional registration and membership of associations, the Graduate Certificate in Counselling Skills is an appropriate course.
