Course Structure and Sequence


Graduate Diploma of Psychological Science

  • Students complete 8 psychology units over 1 year of full-time or part-time equivalent study (24 credit points)
  • The 8 psychology units include three core 200 level units and four core 300 level units plus one elective at either 200 or 300 level
  • Students must have completed introductory psychology units equivalent to first year psychology units of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) three year sequence including (as part of those units or as a separate unit) an introduction to research design and analysis.  Students who have not completed these units as part of a previous degree can take the first year psychology units at ACAP as prerequisites to entry to the program.

Rules of Progression

  • Students must complete three 200-level core psychology units, four 300-level core psychology units, one elective psychology unit from either 200 level or 300 level
  • Students must complete Psychology: an evidence-based approach 2 prior to enrolling in Psychology: an evidence-based approach 3
