Newly enrolled students may borrow two weeks prior to the commencement of their course.

You can renew books and place hold requests online through My Library.

Instructions on renewing loans and placing hold requests are included in the Searching the Library Catalogue module of ACAP Information Skills Online.

Hold requests can be made on books out on loan and when no other copy is available.

Fines

All fine payments are to be made via ACAP Administration. Once  library fines are paid they are non-refundable. Please confirm the amount payable with library staff before making payment.

Payment can be made in person by credit card, EFTPOS, or cash. When paying cash, the correct amount needs to be tendered as no change is given.

Fine payments can also be made over the telephone by credit card or EFTPOS. Contact library staff for details.

Courtesy notices are emailed to students 2 days before an item is due, followed by notices at 4 and 14 days overdue.

A block is put on borrowing rights (including renewals) when fines reach $50. To reinstate borrowing rights a minimum of $20 must be paid and fines must be reduced below $50. Outstanding fines or bills for replacement can impact on graduation or course progression.

Fines are charged at $1 a day per item overdue.

When a book is 21 days overdue a bill for replacement is issued.  Replacement of items is charged at a flat rate of $120 per item. Accrued fines remain payable on replaced items.

A claim or appeal against the imposition of library fines can be made by filling in a Request for Fines Exemption form and returning it to library staff.

Inter-library loans

Inter-library loans (ILL) are available at no charge to on-campus students from libraries in the UNILINC network. Only electronic document delivery is available to Flexible Delivery students.

To search for items in the UNILINC network use the UNILINC Shared Catalogue. Postgraduate and Masters students can also obtain ILLs from non-UNINLINC libraries.

To obtain an ILL or for further information about this service, please contact your campus library.
